Government agencies publish recall data every day. Most people never see it — because it's split across three sites, formatted for lawyers, and never emailed to anyone. That's the whole problem.
The problem.
In 2024, the CDC estimated 48 million Americans get sick from foodborne illness every year. 128,000 are hospitalized. 3,000 die. Most of those illnesses trace back to products that were later recalled — often before the affected consumer ate them. The information was public. It just never reached the person who needed it.
The FDA has a recall site. The USDA has a different one. The CPSC has a third. None of them notify you. None of them cross-reference each other. And they publish in press-release format designed for journalists, not families with a peanut-allergic kid.
The solution.
TOTAL RECALL polls all three government APIs every 10 minutes. It normalizes the data into one schema, auto-tags each recall by category and hazard, and emails you when a new one matches your filters. That's the whole product.
